The National Youth Action Council is being restructured as a broad organization with organizational and individual members. This broad cross section of American youth will serve as the primary representative body of young people in America today. In the media, in politics, and in society, the National Youth Action Council will be the voice of youth. Approximately 100 countries around the world have governmentally recognized national youth councils. Though the United States is one of the minority that does not, the NYAC is in a unique position to change the political landscape as it relates to America's youngest citizens.
NYAC members can choose various degrees of involvement with the NYAC, ranging from basic membership all the way to high level partnerships that include co sponsorship of programs. The full range of opportunities for involvement is as follows:
- Basic Membership
- Program Area Participants
- Executive Committee (EC)
- Program Sponsorship Partners
- Advisors and Friends [non members only]
- Sponsors [non members only]
Additionally, the NYAC works with elected officials to create local and regional youth action councils.
