Building a forum for the youth voice

GYAN seeks to recruit partner organizations for this project. Partner organizations undertake publicity in their countries and are responsible for recruiting 25 articles for submission. The partner organization's name and brief mission statement will be spotlighted in the final publication under "partnerships," and its name will appear on GYAN promotional materials. If interested, contact france@youthlink.org.

This project will bring together articles with a variety of opinions from all regions of the world into one publication. It will be published with one of our

partners that will oversee distribution of the book throughout the world, as part of GYAN’s world-wide Youth Participation Initiative.

Submission of a full range of ideas is encouraged, from articles questioning the legitimacy of global institutions to articles portraying globalization as a positive force for wealth creation and peace.

Articles may deal with, but are not limited to:
The impact of free trade on wealth creation and the environment; the role of capitalism and liberalization on development; human rights and globalization; sustainable development; debt in the developing world and in least developed countries; democracy and good governance, women and wealth creation, or reform of the United Nations System.

  1. Articles should be sent to publication@youthlink.org before the deadline of December 15, 2004.
  2. Applicants should be from eighteen to thirty years old. They should be under the age of 31 by December 31, 2004
  3. Articles are to be no longer than 2,500 words (approximately four single spaced typed pages).
  4. The publication seeks authors of diverse geographical origins, and thus especially encourages contributions from Africa, Asia, and South America.
  5. All articles should be submitted with an English translation. Non-native English speakers can submit articles in their mother tongue in addition to the English translation.
  6. Include your name, age, email address, telephone number, and partner organization, if applicable.
  7. Finalists will be published in a world-wide publication; semi-finalists' articles will be featured online.
